Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026
Forkcast is a meal-planning app run by SoftRinse Group LLC (“Forkcast”, “we”). This policy explains what we collect when you use forkcast.app and app.forkcast.app, why, who else handles it, and how to get it deleted.
The short version: we collect what you tell the app so it can plan your meals. We do not sell it, we do not show ads, and we do not use it to train AI models.
What we collect
From Google, when you sign in. Your name, your email address and the identifier Google assigns to your account. We ask Google for nothing else: no contacts, no calendar, no files. We never see your Google password.
What you tell Forkcast.
- Your conversations with the planning assistant, and its replies.
- Your meal plans, shopping lists and the recipes you save, including any links you paste in.
- Your preferences: how many people you cook for, which days you plan, cuisines you like, food allergies, and dietary goals you choose to mention.
- Thumbs up or down on recipes.
- Photos you upload of meals you cooked. We remove the embedded metadata, including any location, before storing them.
- Feedback you send us through the app, which reaches us by email along with your name and email address.
- Your email address, if you joined our waitlist.
Allergies and dietary goals can say something about your health. We use them only to plan and screen your meals.
What we record automatically.
- How much of the AI service each request used, so usage limits work.
- Server logs of requests, tagged with your account identifier, kept for debugging and security.
- Analytics on this website and in the app through Google Analytics: pages viewed and, in the app, a few milestones such as creating your first plan.
Cookies and browser storage
We set one cookie that keeps you signed in. Google Analytics sets its own cookies on this website and in the app. We also keep small settings in your browser, such as your light or dark theme. We do not use advertising cookies.
How we use it
- To run the product: planning meals, building shopping lists, remembering your preferences and screening plans against your allergies.
- To keep the service working: finding bugs, preventing abuse and enforcing usage limits.
- To understand which features are used so we can improve them.
- To contact you about your account or about changes to the service.
We do not sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
Who else handles your data
We use other companies to run Forkcast. They process data on our behalf and only to provide their service to us.
| Company | What it does for us | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in; analytics | Sign-in request; website and app usage events | |
| Anthropic | The AI model behind the assistant | Your messages, plus the preferences and plan needed to answer them |
| Voyage AI | Recipe search | The text of your recipe searches and meal-plan requests |
| Langfuse | Monitoring the assistant’s quality | Records of assistant conversations |
| Railway | Hosting and database | Everything stored in your account |
| Vercel | Serving the website and app | Standard web request data |
| Cloudflare | Photo storage | Photos you upload |
| Twilio SendGrid | Sending email | Feedback you submit; your email address |
Anthropic’s commercial terms prohibit it from training its models on what we send.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to a successor if Forkcast is acquired, in which case this policy continues to apply to your data until you are told otherwise.
Google user data
Forkcast’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use your Google name, email address and account identifier only to create your account and sign you in.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile, conversations, plans, shopping lists, preferences, ratings and photos within 30 days. Backups and logs that contain it expire on their own schedule after that. Companies in the table above keep what they receive under their own retention periods.
Your choices
- See and change your preferences on the Preferences page.
- Delete a photo from the meal it is attached to.
- Delete your account, get a copy of your data, or remove an allergy by emailing admin@forkcast.app from the address you signed in with. There is no button for these yet; a person handles each request.
- Disconnect Google sign-in at any time from your Google account’s third-party access settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to complain to a regulator. Email us and we will honour those rights regardless of where you live.
Security
Connections to Forkcast are encrypted. Uploaded photos are stored privately and shown only through links that expire. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you if a breach affects your data.
Children
Forkcast is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Where your data is processed
Forkcast is operated from the United States, and the companies listed above may process data in the United States and other countries.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
